Super 8 film transfered
to video. Running time: two minutes presented as a loop
A fragment of footage in which radio telescopes and distant figures inhabit
an unspecified landscape, almost a moonscape. The camera examines the
telescopes as if for spying purposes, while in the background people play
out their lives, momentarily captured. Dislocation is felt in both the
appearance of the telescopes and figures within the landscape, and in
the recording of the fragment of film itself. The invisible transfer of
information from deep space to earth occurs near a Sunday afternoon game
of hide and seek.
